What types of training do you provide?
The STEMSS Institute provides:
- In-person workshops at your Facility. We bring up-to-date, research-based training topics, tailored to your specific Program and clientele. Any handout materials and a .pdf copy of the presentation are provided for you to keep and use. Full-day workshops are the norm, but half-day trainings are available. (Please note that copying and distribution of any handouts is your responsibility.)
- COMING SOON – Real-time interactive webinars on select training topics.
Tell me about contact hours for Continuing Education credits
The STEMSS Institute is a NAADAC Approved Education Provider (#176232) and we are able to certify CE contact hours which are accepted by all State and Tribal SUD Counselor Certifying Boards for certification and license renewal.
These CE hours are also usually accepted by State Licensing Boards for Professional Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists and Social Workers. Some States also accept NAADAC CE’s for Psychologists. Please check with your state board to be sure.
NOTE: CE hours are only available for interactive live or web trainings – simply watching an archived presentation will not grant CEs.
How much does training cost?
First, we encourage you to look at this as an investment in your Program, rather than an expense. Research has shown that providing training for staff is an important element in staff recruitment, retention and job satisfaction. When you look at the cost of sending staff to outside trainings – which may or may not fit your specific needs – our rates are quite reasonable!
On-site trainings typically have a negotiated flat fee plus travel and expenses (lodging, etc.). When they become available, real-time interactive webinars will be charged a per-participant rate.
Besides my staff, can I open the training to other agencies? We’re still working on this, but YES. If a few staff from other agencies want to attend without additional fees, that’s up to you. On the other hand if you want to sponsor a training for the whole community and charge admission, we can negotiate a rate to make that happen.
